HYRULE CASTLE

GanondorfAPP 6:04 AM

CRUNCH!

That's the sound of a tall, lean man getting pressed against the wall with sudden force - so much so that the magnificent tiled walls splinter a little around his body. The figure, dressed in clean-pressed Yiga clothing, writhes about the hand that holds him there. Held by the neck with his feet dangling above the marbled floor, he gasps and wheezes.

"I...We...Tried...!" Cough. Wheeze.

"You are a failure, Captain. And failure is one thing I will absolutely not tolerate. Much less among Yiga leadership. I gave you a simple task. One so simple I would expect a positive outcome even among the thickest of my followers. Yet here you are. With not only having failed in your task, but with the gall to come and tell it to me personally."

"I...am...sorry!" Wheeze.

"Apology accepted, Captain."

Ganondorf's gauntlet-covered hand grasps the neck of his Yiga leader a bit more securely, before in one swift movement he twists. There's an unnatural sounding crackle as the man's neck breaks before him, before the King of Evil discards the now lifeless body to the side. With a twirl and a flourish of his cape, Ganondorf marches back to his throne and sits upon it once more - leaning back considerably to ponder his next move.

As he stews and thinks, Dragmire's eyes narrow and his teeth grit. His hand, wrapped around the arm of the throne, squeezes so hard that the very metal yields and bends shape.

"Enough." He murmurs. "If this piece of the Triforce cannot be found through searching means, I will flush it out another way." His frown slowly warps to a wide smile, the Triforce of Power glowing on his left gauntlet.

"Heh. Heh. Heh."

GanondorfAPP 6:03 AM

The full moon seems to hang lowly in the sky tonight. It's hard to tell if it actually is closer than usual or just appears that way against a near-cloudless sky. It shines a bright white, lighting the lands below. Given it's so early in the morning however, there aren't many souls to really take advantage. There is some wildlife, true. Some nocturnal animals. But by and large? It's quiet.

Which is just how the King of Evil likes it.

Though Dragmire had observed Link and his band venture into the Lost Woods, he had no inkling about their destination nor plans. In a similar vein he is also unaware of the magical portal in those woods, so truly believes that the Hero of Time and his allies are still in the realm. Though truthfully they are back in Termina, his actions are not performed due to his nemesis vacating the land. But because he is angry. Furious, even.

Standing atop the highest room in the tallest tower of Hyrule Castle, Ganondorf, with his arms raised to the sky, bellows a long and evil chant into the wind. The words aren't english, but even to the untrained ear they somehow sound blasphemous. The sort of words that rake on the brain; that priests would not utter hear. This continues for some times... Hours, even...

As the wind picks up in the night sky, swirling the King's cloak about his body in dramatic fashion, thick clouds move in over Hyrule. They block out the aforementioned full moon, darkening the landscape quite considerably.

The citizens of Hyrule may just continue to sleep. Until Dragmire utters his final word of the incantation.

The dark clouds shimmer an unsightly maroon, before growing heavy and parting. But what gives way is not rain. No, it is a great deal heavier and more destructive. Rocks and meteors fall from the heavens, surrounded by molten fire and heat. They pierce the air, pulled down through the skies by naught but gravity.

This storm afflicts most in the greater Hyrule area, but no-where more-so than the refugees and people at Kakariko. Having grown tired of trying to find the Triforce of Wisdom through regular means, Ganondorf had snapped and gone the nuclear option. He would flush it out - killing as many as he can at once. Then, once the Triforce had vacated that being, he would be able to see it and chase it down. It's not a decision made by a sane mind. And given his eyes and expression, one can clearly see that part of him is lost for the moment. With the Triforce of Power glowing brightly on his hand, Ganondorf's bloodshot yellow eyes watch with glee as destruction reigns down around him.

In only minutes, he has his outcome. Some parts are spared. The Forest for instance is protected by the sheer magical properties that act as a barrier for the Kokiri. They would be unaware of these events even occurring. The gorons? They had protection in their mountains, but would feel the affects. And the Zora? Similarly protected in their bunker of a Domain, but affected nonetheless.

Hyrule is on fire.

KAKARIKO VILLAGE

PercivalAPP 6:15 AM

It's hard work being a pet owner. You have to walk them, you know? Feed them. Take care of them. So when your cuccos are clearly upset, you go tend to them. Even when it's... ugh. Past midnight.

Emerging from his home on the corner of Kakariko, a tired-looking Percival rubs his eyes and rounds on the pen that holds his cuccos. He hasn't got many, but those he did have were squawking and making all sorts of noises.

"Hey hey, what's going on?" Still waking up, the man's ears prick up at the sound of something on the air as he approaches the pen. "...what on earth? What is that... foul voice on the air?" Looking up and to the sky, Percival's senses start to sharpen more with consciousness starting to rouse.

"...oh no." Looking up into the sky, Percival's blue eyes positively boggle at the sight coming down at him. It's a small rock at first. It lands nearby without doing a lot of damage. But then? A rock the size of a wagon crushes his neighbours home, exploding upon impact and sending Percy rocketing back via the blastwave. Landing heavily on his back, the man loses himself amid the mild concussion that rocks him.

As the buzzing passes, Percy's blurred vision starts to clear. It reveals to him a terrible sight. The Village was bright lit with orange and red flame. Panic and screams filled the air, as those with air in their lungs tried desperately for a place to hide.

ItamiAPP 7:21 AM

Itami was staying in an inn, hoping to rest after all the adventuring she'd been doing. She only wished to focus on herself and that which she lost and hoped to gain back. She had a burning passion to restore the shop that was consumed, having time to only gather a few items and largely those of importance to take with her in her escape from Hyrule Castle Town's fall.

And now, on this night, her slumber is disturbed in similar fashion as her mount is frustrated and whinnying as if something was bothering it. Not as quick to move, it was the sound of the nearby crashing rock that jumped her up from her bed and to storm outside. Was the village under attack? No, much worse than that. The heat in the building was creeping up and beyond its walls was a blaze.

There was a foul magic in the air, perhaps not even enough to call it foul. It was wretched and evil a darkness that blanketed the senses. This had to be the cause.

The screaming and shouts were unbearable and she could barely make out anything being said other than hearing the wailing and cries of a people who wee helpless. Guards attempted to assemble and guide the village to places of safety, but even they gave over to base instincts and some abandoned their posts to seek safety of their own. For those still willing to brave the fire and brimstone, muffled words dragged along in the chaos, but every so often became clear.

Caverns.

JohnAPP 8:44 PM

John has been hanging around Kakariko while trying to figure out what to do with his quest. He lies in the bed of his inn room and stares up at the ceiling, turning the possibilities, or lack thereof, over in his head for the hundredth time. The encounter with Dorjan in the Shadow Temple made it abundantly clear that he can't hope to confront the wizzrobe alone. :/ Even with a small troop of impromptu allies, he barely managed to hobble Dorjan's plan to raise an undead army of enslaved soldiers. As it is, Dorjan still has some of the souls he reaped, which makes him stronger than he was before. John doesn't think he can gather enough support to take the wizzrobe head-on, the people around here seem to have bigger problems to deal with already.

Could John assassinate Dorjan by stealth? Maybe, but it would be an immense risk. John isn't the best at stealth to begin with, and undead creatures seem to have senses that work in an entirely different way than ordinary ones...plus an eldritch being like a wizzrobe might not even be killable by a single dagger strike, no matter where it hits. Does it even have a heart, or a brain, or any of the other 'vital' organs normal creatures have? c.c

The other option that comes to mind is to just steal the orb containing Ruscov's soul. Rescuing Ruscov is what John vowed to do to begin with, he technically doesn't have to take Dorjan down...but that seems like a lame excuse to let him be someone else's problem. e.e; Besides, John doesn't know what to do with the orb once he has it, and if Dorjan is still alive, he'll definitely --

-- and then some of that 'bigger problems' pulls John out of his thoughts. O.o; John jumps from his bed at the thunderous crash nearby, grabbing his gear with the practiced method of a soldier. "Wosn't me! Huh, wha!?" Scruvo squawks, extricating his head from under his wing and looking around to establish reality from dream. <.< >.> John scoops the guay up as the final item and charges out the door.

When John emerges outdoors, he encounters chaos. Nobody likes chaos -- well, aside from a few who are unwell in the head, of course -- but soldiers are trained to deal with it. >/ John tosses Scruvo into the air to fend for himself, then busies himself helping the nearest casualty, who happens to be a dazed old man lieing on the ground. "C'mon old-timer," John grunts, pulling Percy to his feet and bracing him up, "we've gotta move!" Caverns, somebody's saying? Sounds like a good idea under the circumstances. John pulls Percy toward Death Mountain.

SpoofAPP 10:26 PM

The flower pods open. And three people pop out of it, Tika, Netri and a still unconscious Lude. "Where are we?" Tika asks, her steps unsteady as she steps out of the pool and on to the mossy floor

SpoofAPP 10:48 PM

"Grandmom's house!" Netri replies as she hops out of her flower, the movement a lot easier for her it seems. "Lets bring big bro downstairs."

"Umm.. ok.. but now i have even more questions than i did previously." Tika says as she drags the knight down the long, stone staircase. "How is it that i've never seen this place?"

"I dunno" Netri shrugs. "Maybe you never looked!"

Tika drops Lude unto his bed with a thud, he was quite heavy after all and fixes her dress. "What a horrible night it's been!

SayahAPP 10:49 PM

"It's about to get a lot worse dearie." The old woman says as she motions to the window and the chaos outside.

PonyoAPP 12:47 AM

Ponyo and Strife, Lude's horse trots past the village gates. When the flaming boulders begin to fall Strife gallops toward Sayah's house. Ponyo grunts, annoyed, then follows quickly behind.

TikaAPP 12:51 AM

"OH MY GOSH! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!" Tika screams, pretty much flailing her arms about.

SayahAPP 1:11 AM

"We'll be fine here dearie, it's the people outside we should be worried about.."

Sayah taps Lude's forehead.

"I was hoping you'd get a bit more rest but, oh well. Time to wake up knight."

Sayah places her hand on Lude's forehead.

Lude:skull: 2:57 AM

Lude awakes with a shout. "By the goddess! My arm? I feel awful!"

Lude rubs his head.

NetriAPP 3:00 AM

dives onto her big bro and hugs him tight. She wipes her tears on his chest.

"I knew you'd be okay i knew it! Cuz we're strong knights! Brave and good!" Netri stars wailing

TikaAPP 3:01 AM

"Aww Netri..."

SayahAPP 3:19 AM

Sayah takes a seat near the bed and runs a hand in Netri's hair.

"I wish i could let you get reaquainted but Lude is needed in the village."

Sayah points outside, "Dragmire has gone mad, fiery boulders fall from the sky destroying everything. You need to guide the refugees to safety. There are caverns nearby, escort them there, your friends are in the village they might help you, now go get dressed!"

PercivalAPP 5:04 AM

Hoisted up by a stranger, Percy gets to his feet and dusts himself off some. "Prim!" He calls, moving to grasp his sort-of-adopted daughter by her forearm. "We're going. Quick! Pick up your feet!"

Poor Primrose is bawling her eyes out. The chaos of people panicking and going in every which direction, the fire raining from the sky, the destruction... it was all too much. Yet she is grasped and hauled away, joining a group of others headed up the mountain.

SpoofAPP 5:21 AM

Citizens panic. Screams for loved ones echo throughout, overruled only by other citizens perishing in the flames from above. Kakariko starts to fall into fiery ruin.

While a good majority of them start to flee towards goron territory, others elect to stay behind and pray. Some citizens had lived here for nigh on eighty years! And they were in no condition, nor have any desire to uproot now. Situataions like this occur not only in Kakariko, but all throughout Hyrule. They pray for safe passage for their friends. They pray for Ganondorf to meet his end. They pray for answers, wondering why such madness that has befallen them.

Whether it be through some divine miracle or something else entirely, the Gods have heard these prayers.

Splitting through the clouds from above, three streams of light can be seen streaking across the sky. One of bright green, another of blue and another of magenta. As they race through the sky, the clouds above them seem to diffuse and stutter - seemingly out of fuel.

They don't quite put out the fire of everything already damaged, but they have stopped the source with naught but a flutter of their presence.

Citizens will be able to see them streak above not only Kakariko, but Hyrule Field as well. They zoom past Hyrule Castle and the Temple of Time, before hitting their destination: Lake Hylia.

All three of the Goddesses arc downwards through their arc, before diving into the Lake completely.

For a moment, everything is quiet. Then... the rumbling begins.

SpoofAPP 5:46 AM

All across Hyrule it can be felt: an earthquake of sorts that shakes the leaves off of trees and the dust off of buildings.

The lake is the first to react violently to the Goddess' invasion. Not long after all three deities submerged themselves within it, a gargantuan amount of water ejects from its core. Like a geyser of gas erupting from the earth, the lake rapidly starts to widen its berth and break all previously known records of tide as it grows into Hyrule proper. What aids this process is the the huge fountain of water that erupted from the heart of the lake. With gravity eventually taking ahold of it, water starts to fall back down. As it does, colossal waves break upon the green grass of Hyrule Field. They swallow trees, farms, secret lairs and back yards.

While only minutes ago Hyrule was on fire? It was now getting sunk.

As the water rushes over the quaking land, pillars of earth begin to either rise or sink from the ground. With great whining from the crust of the earth itself, new mountains and valleys form. Atop the mountains are sometimes homesteads, other times entire ecosystems. Kokiri Forest is such a place spared, elevated high into the sky just before waves of water crash upon it.

Despite Kakariko Village already in a high spot, it is not safe. It is one of the place that sinks into the ground, before being overwhelmed by the seemingly endless swells of water. However, the caverns that most are fleeing to? That is safe, albeit barely.

Zora's Domain is flooded. But the natural residents are unlikely to care too much.

Hyrule Castle, its town and the Temple of Time? All flooded and far beneath what is now an ocean.

The entire transformation takes a short amount of time, relatively speaking. The Goddesses were efficient if nothing else! As they peel back towards the sky when dawn starts to break over the horizon, their world reshaping complete, they leave Hyrule a very different place. The mountains that were forcibly grown exist now as islands. The biggest of them, Death Mountain, housing most of the human populace that survived. Throughout the rest of Hyrule other islands also exist, such as Kokiri Forest and some small farms. But by and large, a lot of it is simply... gone. Now at the bottom of the sea.

HYRULE CASTLE

GanondorfAPP 5:58 AM

"W...What?"

Utterly spent from the dark magics that he concocted, the King of evil can only watch as the three Goddesses zoom across the land and reshape the earth. When he witnesses the flood happening before his eyes, Dragmire begins to move to get clear. Especially when it becomes evident that he is right in the path of a raging tsunami!

...but forces hold him at bay. "WHAT?!" He cries out aloud, finding his arms and legs bound to the throne which he so dearly loves. Bound by magic far greater than his own.

"CURSE YOU!" Ganondorf cries, sealed in his place as he watches the titanic sized waves envelop him and his castle.

KAKARIKO VILLAGE

Lude:skull: 7:49 PM

Lude gets up off the bed, still groggy he makes his way to an amrory to get dressed, he does not have time to suit up in his armor so he goes for civilian clothes and an axe.

Leaving the house, he sees the carnage of the fires and the people running for cover, he barely steps one foot in the yard before the fire stops and the earth cracks open.

"By the goddess!"

ItamiAPP 1:25 AM

Itami went over to her horse to calm him down. Easier said than done as he was reasonably upset at all the panic surrounding him. Beside,s he was in a stable and unable to move as freely as he wished. A fire was creeping along the wooden structure shared by a few other mounts and without their masters here to calm them, it was just chaos.

Waving her hand, she gathered what moisture she could from the air and doused the flames, but that did nothing to stop the fire from falling in the sky or the village from being destroyed. Once her mount was sufficiently calmed, she unhitched him and opened the gate, having him step out amid the happenings and mounted up on him. She intended to save herself much like the others around here.

Nicking him into gear, she had him trot around the debris and rocks, almost like a steady agility course. She had to mind the people. Too many running around him might end up with bucking and she can't have him kicking someone clear in the head or any other part of their body. They were near enough to the gate but still so far as a boulder dropped down right before her horse, bringing him to kick upward and back away from the danger. She had to quickly turn him away from it or else he'd have come down right atop some fleeing people. This was more difficult than she intended it to be.

Then it all went quiet. "That doesn't bode well..."

The clouds part and reveal three bright lights in the skies trailing with colorful banners behind them. To those that hoped and prayed, the sight was clear. "It's the Three! They've stopped this terrible curse from falling upon the land!" An older, wearied voice called out. Others had stopped in their rushing to witness the sight though the stream continued into the mountains. The rumbling that followed their appearance was quickly followed by true rain falling from the sky...and rising waters.

"Quick! Keep forward into the mountains!" A guard shouted, his command echoed by others. The earth cracking and crumbling with waters rushing into the village wasn't exactly cause for celebration yet, but it was a start?

JohnAPP 9:16 PM

Seeing as the old man John helped up appears capable of moving on his own, John looks for another need to fill. "Scruvo! See anybody who needs help!?" Scruvo rises high on the thermals created by the flames, surveying through the smoke as best he can. "Ovah heah, Johnny-boy! Th'lad's trapped!" John hurries over to a partially-collapsed house that Scruvo is hovering over. The entryway is blocked by burning planks that once formed the doorframe, so John grabs another plank and uses it to lever away the obstructions. With that accomplished, he sucks in a quick breath and ducks into the building. A moment later he emerges carrying a coughing child.

John rejoins the exodus toward Death Mountain, bearing the boy with him. Scruvo swoops down and lands on John's shoulder. "Uh, Johnny-boy...I ain't sure how I'm gonna spiff up this story." o.o; John turns his head just in time to see the massive colored streaks dip down beneath the horizon. And then comes the water. Hooboy. @.@ Well, good thing they were already headed for the high ground!

PercivalAPP 9:46 PM

The older gentleman known as Percival, along with Primrose by his side (that he grips quite firmly by the forearm!) re-joins John as he comes back to the group with a child in his arm. John is given a firm nod in thanks, before looking up to the sky with dread.

"Goddesses have mercy..." He mutters to himself, daring not to look around at the incoming tsunami that heads their way.

"PERCY!" Primrose squeals, not having the wisdom to make the same level of decision. "THERE'S A REALLY BIG WAVE AND IT'S SO BIG AUGGHH!"

"Eyes up front, Prim." Percival roughly replies, trying to keep his own sanity together amidst the dozens, if not hundreds of citizens and refugees that flee into the mountains. Rubbing shoulders with a lot of them, he floods into the caverns with the many others in search of safety.

"We stand upon the brink; a great wave climbing over green lands and above the hills. With abyss behind us, only the darkness can save us." The small poem he murmurs is made as they press further into the dark caverns, the world changing all about them.

SpoofAPP 5:07 AM

Sayah's body begins glowing as her illusory form fades. The great fairy looks out of the window with Netri and Tika. "Oh dear.."

She rushes outside to an immobile Lude, awestruck by the sight of the earth cracking open and collossal waves roaring towards the village.

She pulls him inside and beckons the horse and bull.

"You two inside now!"

They trot inside and Sayah shuts the door and walks into the living room.

"This is the end of days.." Lude says softly hugging Netri tight in his arms.

"Not quite yet, not to worry." Sayah says as she touches the floor.

The house begins to glow bright as the waves crash around them, houses around theirs were pulverized by the sheer force of the water.

A single second is all it took for the village to be completely submerged underwater, yet Sayah's house is fine, completely dry in fact.

"You can breathe now." Sayah says to Tika, who had been holding her breath the entire time.

"Amazing.. you're, you've been a.. the entire time and i didn't know" Tika says under her breath, she walks to the nearest window and looks out.

The water completely surrounds the house but it does not enter. Tika stares into the expanse of blue and at the debris that once made up her village.

Netri and Lude follow Tika to the window as well.

Netri tries to stick her hand outside but is held back by Lude. He sticks his hand out first, the current though powerful enough to tear a house to scrap, feel gentle here this close to the house.

As he pulls his hand back in it immediately dries.

He lets Netri stick her hand out and she waves at a fish!

"So what now?" Lude asks the great fairy, who was currently sitting next to the fire, drinking a glass of wine.

"Can't do much now, we need to wait till the current dies down. Then we set sail for the Kokiri forest, should be safe there. Should try to meet up with my sisters soon too.. but that's for after we get to the forest." Sayah says to him, finishing her glass of wine.

"As for right now... Tika." Sayah calls to Tika snapping her out of her reverie. "Could you be a dear and bring us all a bottle of wine? We have quite a wait ahead."

Tika rushes to the wine cabinet in the kitchen. "Yes Miss Sayah.. uh.. Great fairy Sayah!"

Tika returns with three bottles of wine and one mug of lon lon ranch milk (the for kids kind.)

"What an awful few days it has been!" Tika says as she hands out the stuff.

"Preach sister!" Sayah replies. In a much better mood now with a bottle of wine in hand.

HYRULE CASTLE

GanondorfAPP 5:35 AM

...at the bottom of the ocean, underneath what must be dozens, if not hundreds of pounds of pressure? Is Ganondorf. The King of Hyrule is bound to the throne which he so badly craved, each wrist and foot surrounded by a mysterious energy to keep him in place.

His eyes though, they are open Unblinking. He stares out into the ocean that surrounds him, teeth gritted. "Gnnggrrhhh!" Bubble bubble.

SpoofAPP 9:13 PM
