Characters involved:
Kentas Kentas approached the steep climb towards Death Mountain, he looked up, jaw dropping down in awe. "The closer we get, the bigger it gets!" Radella punched his jaw closed with her body.
She was still in the dark about why they were here but felt something in the area, was this why Kentas came? They pushed on, Kentas marching more up the incline, his amber eyes gazing back at the lights of Kakariko.
As the Kokiri follows the winding path that hugged the mountains edges and ridges, Kentas smiled while feeling a growing heat from the ground, this was said to be a volcano so obviously the temperature would change more.
Passing a large turn a boulder charges past him, slamming heavily into a wall that seemed to guard Kakariko from such debris. The rock however shifted in place and began rumbling before bursting apart into the shape of a Goron.
"WHAT?!" Kentas exclaimed in excitement as he approached hesitantly. He held his hands out as if he wanted to touch the Goron to make sure it was real. Radella slammed into his left hand before looking at the Goron, startled and confused by its sudden appearance, it turned and stared at the two intruders on the mountain.
Spoof The Goron turned around, each step he took a careful but sturdy plod into the ground. Even with the sky having turned dark, he was familiar with the pathways amd feel of the earth around here. It was going to take a lot more than darkness to confuse them around their home. Still, it does feel odd. "Are you alright, little guy? You didn't get hurt, did you? I hope not," he looked down to Kentas.

Kentas Kentas looked up at the Goron with a smile, his second encounter with Gorons was just as astounding, responding to their question, the Kokiri shook his head energetically, "No! I am fine thank you! I am just astounded to see you smash into a wall like that and be fine!" He yawped happily before clearing his throat.
Amber eyes turned upward to the volcano, "I am actually here looking for help, I wonder.. do you know where a Great Fairy could be on this mountain? There are plenty of injured down in the Village and I was wondering how powerful a great fairy could be in this time of need." His smile did not waver as Kentas stood proudly in front of this Goron.
Radella turning red over his shoulder before smooshing her ethereal body of light against his small childish cheek harshly. "You are looking for a what?! Why didn't you ask me? I AM A FAIRY TOO." His ears rang harshly, Kentas comedically rubbed a finger in his ear canal, his eyes wide as a glance was thrown to Radella who beamed red like some sort of targeting laser, her focus was dead on.
Spoof "If you say so," the Goron remarked with some second thoughts, but he'd accept it. A smile spread across his face thinking about the wall he just ran into. "Yeah, that's no problem for a Goron. We're built of tough stuff," he patted his hardened skin a few times and even flexed a little. "But you're not here to listen to me yap on. You're looking for a Great Fairy?" He turned his attention way up to the top of the mountain.
"If you're looking for...err, is everything alright?" He noted the tiny red orb that was bashing Kentas in his face. He seemed fine, but that light looked pretty angry... "Eh, anyway, she's way at the top. You'll need protection, though. The volcano is still active, even if it's a little hard to see up the way. It's probably even more dangerous now that everything is so dark. Gorons in the city are working right now to try and light up the paths, but they're not done yet. So, if you plan on heading up, be extra careful."
Kentas Kentas gave the Goron an appreciative bow, "Thank you for your concern, do you have any advice for me or maybe another way up? I would like to brave this path but I heard that lots of rocks fall down alot!" He ignored Radella who fluttered away and vented fairy dust from herself in a way to constraint her rage.
Her red glow fading away as slow as a snail, as she gazed at the Goron and Kokiri, she huffed and began to turn away again. Kentas kept his eyes on the Goron his interest in their race was growing with every minute.
"You sure are made of tough stuff! A slam like that would put me in bed for a week! So why were you rolling around Mr Goron?" Kentas asked politely and curiously, his inner thoughts filled with many questions as he then gazed upon the glowing red crater, shining up to the black clouds making it eternally night.
Spoof "Oh, I was just scoping out the area. Sent to scout around, see what was going on here. The mountain still has all its dangers, even if it's dark. This isn't even the normal kind of dark we're used to. There's clouds and WHOA!" That bright flash nearly blinded him. He blinked a few times and rubbed at his eyes to clear up the issue. "That's one nasty storm," he shook his head as if it was some remedy to clear up the problem. He might need to take another run at the wall.
"There's still tektites here, red one. There's also falling rocks. That can't really be helped, but all the areas where it happens the most are marked. Plus, there are places to hide just in case the mountain gets testy. So, if you don't have a shield, you can take cover in those places. That's our way of trying to help the less rocky types to get up here. A shield is really good to have, though. Should be plenty in Kakariko. There isn't any other way to the Great Fairy except up. She's a tough climb, but there's places you can rest along the way. Oh, I forgot to mention the lizalfos and chu chus, fire keese. All sorts of problems up there. You sure you want to go?"
Kentas Kentas gulped but nodded confidentially, "Yes! I want to push myself and see if I can find help on my own. Thanks again for the advice!" Kentas did not notice the flash as he looked to the mountain, but could feel the boom and the energy fly from Hyrule fields.
Radella hastily flew under his hat, "I don't like this.. what is going on?!" She spat out with a wavering tone.
Kentas merely giggled before slowly and cautiously making his way to the ledges and natural ramps leading higher up Death Mountain, turning back he gave the helpful Goron a wave before scaling slowly with his adept Kokiri climbing skills.
Kentas Moments pass and Kentas feels the slope of Death Mountain grow harsher with every couple of steps, the darkness obscuring the path he was to take, Radella sighs behind him, "I can't believe you would leave me out the dark like this.. We are getting closer though, I can feel an energy nearby."
Kentas smiles merrily before Crack! A red hot rock, crumbles next to his feet with great force. Looking up he could see more flying down before the ground started to shake under him. In a panic, Kentas weaved back and forth along the path, trying to avoid some rocks as they crashed down all around. His amber eyes gaze around and he finds a nook in the side of the mountains crevasse that formed this path. Ducking into it, the flaming hail continues to rain down, denting and scorching the path with no mercy.
"What a perilous mountain this is. How exciting!" Kentas squealed as he hugs the walls of the book, appreciative of his safety from the hurling rocks.
Death Mountain The mountain shook and belched raining flames, the tremors carried down to Kakariko only to lightly shake their foundation, was it the aftermath of Ganondorf's spell?
Many of the violent mountain wildlife, roared and stomped about, sensing danger in the air as the mountain slowly pacified itself. Dodongo's began to burrow from their caverns and surface outside, the illumination of small fires being spit sporadically from their throats across the mountain made quite the light show to those in the village.
Kentas After waiting out the disaster that he was warned about, Kentas smiled up to the sky from his book, Radella huddling up to his shoulder, "We shouldn't of came here! How can we help anyone if we die?!" A tone of terror erupting from his fairy companion.
The Kokiri giggled and wriggled, leaving the book before sighing aloud, it echoed around the mountain with his chipper tone. "Radella, you are my best friend and a wise ally.. I know this is dangerous, but we should try! I have never met a Great Fairy before. Are they illuminated bodies of light like yourself?" He asked curiously as he cautiously stepped up the incline, sneaking as if the mountain was watching him climb it.
Radella became quiet and mumbled a response to his question hesitantly. "N-no.. not exactly. You will see if we can find her." Perplexed by her answer for a few minutes, Kentas then gazed at her over his shoulder, "What do you mean?..Is-" he was cut off his question from crashing into a wall. The darkness cast onto the sky was making visibility a harder task, pushing away from the wall in annoyance, Kentas rubbed his nose and stared upward. A steep wall stood Infront of the boy, with cracks, grips and ledges covering the wall as it boldly skyrocketed to the sky.
Kentas Blinking widely in awe, Kentas stares up and touches the wall as if it isn't real, "How could I not see this? Was it that hidden? From lower down?" He goggled down at the direction he met the Goron, unable to see that path, he then sighed happily before looking at Radella.
"This Eternal night is definitely not good.. but it can have a silver lining too." Kentas' eyes surveyed Kakariko further down the mountain, it was illuminated from all the torchlight and open flames. Kentas then confidential leaped up the wall, fastening his grip to the wall before him and scaled cautiously in the dark.
Radella used herself as an aide, shining her yellow hue onto the stone, to expose it's cracks and footholds, Kentas giving her a appraising smile while nodding his head.
He made short work of a third of the climbable wall, stopping for energy on a ledge as he felt like an invisible guage was depleting, after a small lull in climbing Kentas scaled up the wall, sometimes his hand giving way as he got closer to the top, stopping on another ledge that stuck out harshly from the wall, Kentas sat down unobservant of an enemy laying low in the dark, the clicking and crackling as several legs crawled along the wall before half of a Skulltula's face could be made out with Radella's glow.
As it charges along the wall, glowing red with anger, Kentas quickly draws his dagger holding it out as he braces for the skulltula to crash into it, which it does. Nearly throwing him off the ledge in the process, as it breaks down into a green roar of flames Kentas sighs aloud with panic before scaling the final stretch of the wall, rolling onto the level ground at the top of the mountain, exasperatingly breathing out, the Kokiri lays on the harsh rock for a few moments as Radella flutters around flustered, "The energy is stronger here Kentas, but I don't know where!" A blazing heat coming from a cavernous passage leading inside the volcano is the only obvious way to go.
Kentas After a rest at the top of the mountain, the ground rumbles intensely before the Volcano spits out more rocks sending them down the mountain harshly.
The intense vibrations make some Dodongo's, both baby and adolescent ones breach the surface, roaring and spitting as they look about sniffing out the Kokiri.
Kentas rolls quickly to his feet, the sound of small pebbles being crushed under his boots, clouds of dirt being kicked up as he shuffles away, unfortunately getting trapped against a wall that reverberated as he threw his body into it.
As the Dodongo's gather into a group and begin cornering the outnumbered Kentas, drawing his dagger and shield he looks to the group of green lizards, as their two arms claws towards him, dragging their scales roughly against the rock flooring.
Radella locks onto the closest and biggest Dodongo as it throws open it's massive jaw and twists it's head eerily for a bite. Kentas moving quickly drove his sword into its skull through the bright red roof of its mouth, pulling the blade with fear as it's whole body flashed red, a miffed exhale coming from the dying Dodongo before Radella pulls at his hair.
"Oh no.. I have seen that glow before! It was from a bomb flower! Brace yourself with the shield!" She shrieked in alarm as she fly's under his hat.
Putting the shield up in front of him, he hears a loud hissing before..
BOOM!
The wooden shield shatters against his arm, splinters digging into his arm as he is thrown through the hollow wall, into a darkened passage way. The remaining Dodongo were thrown about by the explosion, killing them and creating a chain reaction of fireworks in the permanent night. Radella was prodding Kentas who lay still for a few minutes, sore and shaken.
A giggle came from further in the natural corridor, curiously Kentas pushed up in pain, Radella nudging him harshly as speckles of blood covered his arm and chest, each step revealed a mysterious light from the darkness, as he got closer to it, a room revealed itself in front of the Kokiri and his fairy.
The walls glistening like a waterfall made from crystals, the array of colours flashing around the stone floor, as Kentas gets closer to a pool of water, blazing torches at each side, he looks into the clearest blue and looks around Radella hovering over the pool intensely, "This is definitely the source of the energy I sensed! But how do we call her?" She pondered as her gaze goes to Kentas.
Kentas Radella stares at the floor, the Triforce symbol glowing a dazzling golden shine before she exclaims to Kentas. "Try making a tune! I can't remember where I know this but we resonate with music! She is a great fairy meaning she might respond!"
Kentas looked at Radella with a whimper of pain in his eyes as he clasps his hands together and begins to practise using it as a makeshift flute.
After a moment he then plays random notes, all colliding and tangling themselves into a cacophony of whistling sounds.
Radella interrupts with a harsh blow to Kentas' head, "No! That is.. awful. Really awful. Try something you heard back in the forest. Remember anything those Skull kids would play in that grotto area with the stumps?" Kentas began processing his memories before gasping out and nodding to his fairy.
"I think I know what you mean now!" He played some notes from a few songs he overheard over the years, a few bars were plucked from Saria's song and a song of storms, he then played a few notes unknowingly from Zelda's Lullaby before stopping.
The room filled with silence before Kentas sat down in a huff, "I guess we need a particular song to summon her. What should we do now?" He asked, losing his purpose and energy as the Kokiri examines the cut on his arms.
Sayah The great fairy in all her glory stuck her head out from under the water and took a good look at the Kokiri boy and his fairy before diving back into the water unseen.
The rules stated that she and her sisters, being closely tied to the royal family would only grant their presence to those who knew the Lullaby.
But Sayah had broken those rules twice before.
One more wouldn't hurt.
Also she was quite grateful to him for reopening the entrance to her fountain.
Soon the little fairies would return.
Such a good deed must be rewarded she thought.
Still deep in the water, she pointed her finger at Radella and gently made her ring out the notes of the Lullaby.
Kentas Radella hummed out the notes that was strangely placed in her mind, Kentas listened carefully, piqued that the silence was broken by Radella not with words but with music.
She stopped suddenly, before flickering confused at Kentas, "Sorry I don't-" The Kokiri hushed his fairy as he clasped his hands and replicated the notes she hummed, softly starting the Lullaby with his amateur flute made with his hands.
The notes echoed.. no. Carried an energy around the hidden fountain as Kentas proudly continued to play the Lullaby, finishing it, the melody leaving an impression on him heavily as his amber eyes shed a tear. "What a lovely song Radella.. don't know why I am crying though.. hehe." He mumbles alone with his fairy as Kentas brings up both hands to rub away the mysterious tears.
Sayah Sayah rises slowly out of the fountain.
Floating above it, she lied down and rested her head in her hands.
"You've made it all this way from the forest to my fountain atop this mountain, endured battles and traversed the shadow temple only to cry now at a song.. How odd."
She smiled and wiped his tears, her touch sending healing energy throughout his body.
"Because of you my fountain is open to my little fairies once more and for that you have my thanks. Now tell me Kentas, brave Kokiri what is it you desire?"
Kentas "Hehe I know.. it is strange. What is that song though? I feel.. calm at ease even." He gazed at the Great Fairy Sayah in awe before feeling the energy mend his spirit and wounds.
"I am glad to hear that, I didn't know that there was such a situation going on with your fountain! I came here because I wanted to help those at Kakariko, so if you could do anything to aid them or even give me the power to help them I would greatly appreciate it." He gave a childish smile to the Great Fairy, Radella flying closer to her as she was in awe as well.
She spoke softly and meekly to Sayah, "I only heard stories of Great Fairies. I am astounded to meet you and hope I can make you proud of us!" She spoke as if she was meeting an elder or relative, her yellow glow beaming brightly as she danced above the water.
Sayah "Well it was you who lead the boy to my fountain so i am already proud."
She herself gave off a gentle yellow glow as she watched Radella.
She turned her focus toward Kentas once more leaning closer into him.
"That song is very important to my sisters and I. T'was a song we sang to praise our mother, Goddess Hylia. Over time we found that our song of praise would calm the storms that raged in the heart of our mother's hylian incarnation. So we gave this song as a gift to the royal families. You are very fortunate to have heard it, keep it a secret and it may serve you well."
"Now your wish is to help the villagers? Nothing for yourself? How noble, Anan-si must be proud, or he would be if he cared about these things..."
"If you would truly like to help the villagers all you would need to do is find my fairies, go to the edge of the mountain and play my song. Call my fairies and let them know my fountain has been reopened, lead them to the village and let them heal the villagers.
She glows brightly pink, her light shining throughout the fountain and into the night sky.
"Now go find my fairies Kokiri boy."
Kentas
Kentas smiles widely at he Great Fairy, "So that song is very special then? I will keep it a secret! Should your fairies respond to that song as well then?" His amber eyes shine brightly as Radella shines next to him, happily hovering of his shoulder as she listens deeply to the two.
The room resonates with magic as Kentas feels fully restored from his climb up the mountain and wounds he received. "I will find them! How many do you roughly think are on the mountain?" His eagerness can be heard through his youthful voice as he stares wide-eyed to the Great Fairy.
Sayah "You need only find ten brave Kokiri and the rest shall find you.
Play the song so they may be drawn to you."
Kentas Kentas bows and turns away from Sayah before dashing off towards the passage, "I will! Thank you Great Fairy, I will do my best!" The Kokiri left into the darkness of the passage, emerging out onto the summit of Death Mountain, soot and ash coating the floor and edges of the entrance to the fountain. His amber eyes look to Radella who still glows cheerily, "Can you sense any other fairies then Radella?" Kentas asks curiously, looking around the dark mountain, unsure where to start.
Capra High atop the summit along its edge two sibling fairies hid in a bush. Seeing the light of the great fairy they came to return to their fountain, but seeing the tiny hylian come out made them hide.
"I don't like this Laytl, I don't like this one bit. Who is that boy?"
"He might be a poacher!"
Laytl "I don't think he is, fairy Sayah would have dealt with him a long time ago."
"Still i don't trust him. I don't wanna end up in a jar. Do you Capra?"
Capra "Let's just wait in this bush until he leaves then we'll go to fairy Sayah."
Laytl "mhm."
Kentas Radella bobs up and down in the air, "Yes Kentas, I sense some very close! Try the song again!~" She sings with joy as she looks left and right. The Kokiri nods happily clasping his hands as he begins to slowly whistle Zelda's Lullaby to those fairies nearby, once he finishes the song delicately he looks down at his hands, tilting his childish head before speaking out to his fairy.
"I might have to get an flute or ocarina after this. I think it would sound even better!" Kentas exclaimed with glee as he also joins Radella in looking for the Fairies. Sayah's healing gave Kentas what felt like an boost to his childish limitations, buzzing with energy as he awaits to begin his quest for the Great Fairy.
Laytl Laytl starts buzzing.
"OH! OH! He knows the song Capra! And he has his own fairy!"
"He must be a Kokiri boy."
Capra "No way!" "How would a Kokiri boy leave the forest? Anan wouldn't let a Kokiri leave. This must be a trick."
"And that fairy must be a prisoner."
Laytl "Well there's only one way to find out."
"Let's go talk to his fairy Capra!"
Laytl pokes her head out of the bush and begins to fly toward the Kokiri boy.
Capra "Laytl! We're gonna get in trouble!"
Capra flys behind Laytl.
Laytl Laytl buzzes around the fairy glowing brightly.
"Are you a Kokiri?"
"What are you doing outside of the forest?"
Capra Capra stays slightly behind, out of the boy's reach glowing a dim purple.
"Are you a prisoner?"
"Do you need help?
He asked the fairy.
Kentas Kentas and Radella exchange looks before giggling slightly, Radella taking charge as she talks to the two, "No, no! Nothing like that! I am Radella, I was paired with this Kokiri Kentas by the Great Deku Tree. He was so eager to leave the forest against my wishes.. but Anan allowed it, as log as he guided Anan's friends home." She glows, hovering close to Kentas as he gazes at the two fairies curious of himself and his fairy.
Kentas coughs and clears his throat before addressing the two with a bow, "As you heard I am a Kentas the Kokiri, it is nice to meet more fairies! The Great fairy was telling me that I have to find more of you guys so we can help Kakariko!" He spoke with a cheeky grin, amber eyes glowing with joy before he looked downward to the village illuminated by torchlight.
Laytl Laytl glows a bright pink.
"Ahem i'm Laytl nice to meet you!"
"This is my little brother Capra."
"Say hello Capra."
Capra "... So are you the one that freed fairy Sayah's fountain?"
"I suppose we should thank you, we can go home now."
Laytl "Finding the rest of us will be easy! I'm sure they saw fairy Sayah's glow they must be on their way already."
"Just play the song."
Capra "He doesn't have an instrument! He can't whistle loud enough for everyone to hear!"
Laytl "Oh, you're right. What can we do now?"
Kentas He looks curiously at Capra, "I did, though it wasn't easy! Did you say Sayah?" He was sure that was the name of the Elder he escorted from Kokiri Forest, it could just be a coincidence right?
Kentas puts a hand to his chin, thinking intensely as he hums a low tone, his eyes looking up to the night sky. "Do you think Goron's would have any kind of instruments?" He asks the two fairies, eager to find their friends and help Kakariko with their healing properties.
Laytl "OOOO Yes! Gorons have drums you could use! Those might be loud enough to call the others."
Capra "yeah yeah goron drums are loud enough."
Kentas Kentas agrees happily before looking down the mountain, "I guess we should find the city of Gorons then! Maybe that one I met can guide us if hlthey are still there?" He curiously stated as he peeked over the ledge, examining the pitch black wall he scaled up to get to the summit.
Radella hovered next to the two new companion's, "So what where you two doing before we awoke the Great Fairy?" She spoke casually as if they were already friends, her gaze flickering over to Kentas to make sure he was ok.
Capra "We were going to find another fairy fountain. Ever since that mean ol' knight blocked away our home we had to find a new one."
Laytl "Yeah that mean ol' knight! But now we could go back home and its all thanks to you."
Capra "yup yup."
Kentas "Mean old knight? What did they look like?" He asked curiously walking closer as he looked about, he thought of all the people down in Kakariko that he could think of, waiting for the Fairies to give him some kind of description to go off of. Radella made a light hum pondering as well before smiling in the form of a glow, "We fairies got to stick together right!" She played off the praise before shifting to Kentas, "We better head down then and find a drum!" She wandered over to the ledge, trying to glow brighter to help Kentas down the wall.
Cheekily Kentas bowed to the fairies as he went to the ledge but rather than climbing down steadily he leaps down to the ledge bekow, slamming hard before standing up with a smirk, the ledge wasn't too far from the top and he felt confident with Sayah's healing.
Radella huffed before looking to the two Fairies and slowly followed Kentas downward, she shouted back to Laytl and Capra, "We will be back soon with the drums!"
Laytl "Umm... he had a big sword and was wearing heavy armor."
Laytl watched them leave.
"Do you think we should have gone with them?"
Capra Capra shakes his head.
"Nah! They'll be alright. 'Sides we should stay up here and look out for more fairies.
Kentas Kentas scaled down the wall quickly, eager to continue on his mission, as he reached the bottom with some roughed up hands he pats his trousers before peeking back to he summit.
"Big sword and Heavy armor? Sounds like Lude or Melkibren? What would they want with a Great Fairy?" He asked curiously, before trekking down the trail of the mountain, relying on Radella's glow to help.
He pressed on along the path with joy close to where he met the Goron, he could see the village closer now, everything seemed the same, hopefully still in need of some fairy dust! Though what peaked Kentas' attention as he grew closer was the silhouette of a wooden flagpole with a singular red banner floating from it.
Radella turned to Kentas as they marched on, "Hey.. now that I think about it, I did sense something from that, but I was more focused on finding Great Fairy Sayah!" She exclaimed, staring intensely at the post as they close in on it.
Kentas
Kentas smirks before making his way down another wall of Ramps and jumps just to get up and down, making his way down in the dark he looks to the post before looking around for the Goron, they were nowhere in sight, possibly still scouting about the mountain.
He shrugged his small Kokiri shoulders before gallivanting towards the post, Kentas rests his hand against it, perplexed at how a fairy could hide near this, he spun around the post to make sure it wasn't hiding before Radella giggled, "Just whistle the song dummy!"
Kentas returned her laughter with a chuckle as he clasped his hands and briefly practices before serenading the night sky with the Royal Families Lullaby.
He felt confident that he could remember it, but still lingers for a true instrument to awaken it's true musical potential. As the song finished with a flurry of notes, Kentas sighed aloud as he undid his hands, he glanced to the post again waiting for the possible fairy.
Gelsey The Fairy burst out of the post right in front of Kentas as if it was there all along, the fairy stared at both Kentas and his fairy before blinking with disbelief as her Jasmine light twinkles in confusion, "You know the song? And have a fairy?!" She seemed alerted but assumed there was a reason behind his appearance.
Suddenly her senses heightened and could sense Sayah's return, "OH! Did you bring back Sayah?! Please tell me this is true!" Gelsey spoke joyously to the two, Radella approaching happily speaking from one fairy to another, "It is! This Kokiri here was too curious to stay in the forest AND the village, but he wants to help the injured down there with Sayah's power. Laytl and Capra are both at the Summit I don't know if they have went to see them yet but you should join them the now!"
The air fills with excitement as Gelsey nods and buzzes about with delight as she climbs the trail with her bright glow, Kentas smiles at Radella before rubbing the back of his head. "It is good that we are helping out the fairies! I wonder who sealed the Great Fairy away.." He questioned as he followed a trail that twisted under the mountains into a cavern, a very spacious opening that held a few bobomb flowers to his left and a stone platform sitting in front of a gate, was this the Goron City?
Spoof Was it evening right now? Or day? With the night sky blocked out by the magical cloud that lingered eternally above, it was hard to tell.
With the influx of refugees and wounded soldiers alike, the Village had truly swollen far beyond its designed limits. People are forced to live and sleep outside, though they work together to make it as easy as possible. Nearly everyone is caring, with various lamps lit up to provide enough light for people to keep their sanity.
Truthfully though, murmurings were beginning to rumble underneath the surface of those that had gathered. They were, in effect, lost sheep. Zelda is gone (though presumed alive), and along with her all of her leadership. While the guards have assumed leadership duties, they weren't in exactly a clear state of mind either. Everyone was frazzled, to be honest. And they couldn't just wait forever. Should they attempt to head further up the hill to Death Mountain to try and gain refuge? Should they wait? Should they all try to move somewhere else and brave the fields? Options were aplenty, but with no-one to discuss them.
---
Standing atop the rooftop of an inn, a figure draped in a purple hooded cloak stands tall. He seems to stand still for a moment, occasionally drawing the gaze of those walking by. It's when he flurries with some movement does he draw more attention, throwing his arms out wide to greet those around. "CITIZENS!" He bellows, voice dark. As he throws back his hood, the face that is revealed is not a pleasant one. The man has deep scars, with eyes that glow an un-holy white.
"I come bearing a message from the man who currently sits atop the throne of Hyrule Castle. Our new King: Lord Dragmire."
The shocks and gasps that echo out are clearly audible. Some curse at the man with rage, while others throw things at the man atop the roof. While guards begin to try and find a way onto it, calling for a ladder, the man continues.
"The King sees you all here, squatting in filts like rats in the sewer. So he has offered you this one and only chance to join him! No longer will you face danger in the fields. No longer will you face his ire. He has not abandoned you, like our former King and Princess. You will be FREE to continue your life as it was. Farmers, you continue farming. Traders, you continue trading. Live life as it was meant to be lived, though with our rightful King at the head of the table!"
A royal guard finally ascends to the roof, though the messenger is surprisingly nimble, and pushes the guard back down to the ground! "...REFUSE this gesture? And the King will treat you as an enemy of the Kingdom. There will be no quarter; no mercy. He will send you all to rapture! LEAVE this town now, and you will be spared. Live the life you were supposed to!"
And at this moment, the man is tackled by guards. "Don't follow a Princess that has fled and abandoned you--!" He gets out amid gurgles and thrashes, before eventually being carted away by the guards and presumably thrown into a jail of some sort.
The murmurings and whisperings start once more as the people who watched fade back to their parts of town. Was this man telling the truth...?

- musical_note:
The muddy background noise of worried murmurs is broken through by a clear flute note.
Aubrey hadn't thought that he was where he needed to be. He'd set out from Gerudo Fortress, where he'd left his daughter in the care of her clan, with the intention of getting back to the Crimson Wolfos Inn and resuming his bread-winning. Along the way, darkness had inexplicably covered the land, and monsters had arisen all over. Normally Aubrey's swift enough to outrun any of the common bogies that might provide a threat in Hyrule Field, but between poor visibility and the fact that there were SO MANY suddenly, he found himself unable to navigate toward his destination. c.c; Eventually he had run across the Zora River and taken refuge in its wet embrace.
It wasn't long before the river carried Aubrey to the bridge between Castle Town and Kakariko Village, where the populace was cutting through a condensed horde of monsters to reach safety. Aubrey pulled himself up on the bank and joined the throng. After arriving in Kakariko, he got an idea of what was going on from the other refugees, and...that was that, more or less. c.c It seemed inadvisable to attempt travel again for the time being, so Aubrey was stuck here, yet another body in the suddenly over-crowded village.
But now, after the missive delivered by the King of Evil's messenger...Aubrey is beginning to see the handiwork of the Three in his presence here, using even the menace of Their enemies to guide him. The voice of Aubrey's flute expands through the village, calling out to anxious hearts to stop and listen. After playing a poignant introduction, Aubrey lowers the instrument and begins to sing...

Biggoron Biggoron peaks his head over the wall that encircles and hides their secret workshop before Biggoron plants them firmly down next to some glowing lights which appear to be Laytl and Capra.
He unclasped his hands, letting Kentas stand on the aummit, his legs were like chuchu's as they wiggle like jelly trying to find their way, Radella giggled before tugging Lexa over to the two fairies, Kentas merely wobbles about, trying to get his legs to work again.
Biggoron sighs, the sheer bass of his voice shakes the mountain slightly before he squints in the night towards Kakariko, "What are you needing at the top of this mountain little man? Surely you should be in your way to those lights?" Not waiting for an answer, Biggoron descended back into his home, a small gust following as he moves his big body.
Kentas Kentas continued this act before resting on the floor as the dark sky spins in his gaze, the Kokiri let's moments pass before slowly raising up and holding tightly to the drums resting on his hips.
He walks away from the group of Fairies who seemed to be in a deep conversation, Kentas carefully challenged the ledge leading up to the summit, he gazed into the night and thought of the fairies and Sayah.
Bringing his small hand to the drum, he brought it in front of himself, and began to practice with the drum, finding the notes he needed and the sounds that rang out from the simple drums.
Lexa Tugged by Radella was re-united with Laytl and Capra.
"Dweebs!"
She brought the two smaller fairies into a tight embrace.
"Where's Gelsey? Radella said they found her too."
Capra "Calling us Dweebs isn't nice Lexa.."
Capra said struggling to loose himself from Lexa's squeezing hug.
Laytl "Gelsey is at the fountain, she missed Sayah so so much so she decided to stay there until the Kokiri boy could find the rest of us."
Although Laytl was also having the life squeezed out of her by Lexa she didn't try to fight it. Lexa's hug was much too strong.
Lexa let them go and buzzed over to Kentas, who was playing with the drums.
"You heard them! Hurry up so we can find the rest of us!"
Kentas Kentas was startled by Lexa's sudden approach as he was focused intensely on the drums. He exhaled sharply as he gazed at the fairy, "Woah! I am still finding the notes. Don't wanna call the fairies up 'cause I butchered the melody!" The boy let out a chuckle before lightly patting at the drums, the notes echoed out slightly in the vast air of the mountain.
A crackle and hiss came from the mountain as it spit out small chunks of magma and burning stone across the mountain, Kentas watched as orange glow lit up various spots on the mountain. Moments passed as Kentas let the volcano ease up on the fireworks, he hovered his hands over the drumhead made with a finely stretched fabric that gave out such satisfying tones.
With his pause and build of ambiance, he started his melody, playing loud and passionately to the world below the mountain, as Zelda's Lullaby called out to all, whether it was fairy or not.
Spoof As the notes rung out, the ringing of fairy wings could be heard and their glow could be seen. Many colours illuminated the night sky as they made the climb toward the summit, the source of the music. Soon the Kokiri boy was surrounded by many curious fairies.
Staring at the strange Kokiri boy.
How did he know that song?
Kentas Kentas gazed about him, what was a eternal night suddenly became a bright array of colours filling up the dark air, the people of Kakariko could probably see such light if they looked up, Kentas continued to play the song, hoping that all the fairies that had been cut off from Sayah would finally be able to reunite.
Taking a step back from the ledge he had made his concert, the Kokiri becomes a Pied Piper of Fairies as he slowly walked to the fountain, continuing to play the song on a loop, his small hands bouncing and echoing off the drumhead as he keeps the beat of the Lullaby.
Lexa Lexa sat upon Kentas' hat and helped lead the fairies.
"This kokiri boy was the one that freed Sayah! In return, we have to help him."
Spoof The mountain rang out with the sounds of fairy wings as they dutifully follow the Kokiri boy.
Their wings ringing the songs of the lullaby.
Kentas Kentas continues to lead the fairies with the Lullaby booming out from his drums, the passage leading to Sayah's fountain echoed with Zelda's Lullaby. A smirk builds on Kentas' face as he guided the lost Fairies of Death Mountain, his hands throbbing slightly with his excessive drumming.
Radella hovered next to Lexa, she was brimming with light at the event, she hadn't seen as many fairies at once since the Great Deku Tree summoned all the fairies of Kokiri forest for an important message. The crowd of lights grew closer with the Kokiri boy, Sayah's pool was in sight and glowing with energy as Kentas continued to play the song on loop.
Sayah The great fairy awaited the boy's return, her head resting in her arms which were resting on the rim of her fountain.
She greeted the boy with a warm smile and floated upward slightly to embrace the missing fairies.
Gelsey stayed close to Sayah, not wanting to leave her, at least not yet.
She floated around the fountain slowly and gently speaking to the fairies.
"This kokiri boy, Kentas has unsealed my fountain. As a show of gratitude you all shall grant his request."
"Now Kentas what is it you desire? Speak carefully so that my fairies may understand."
Kentas Kentas' performance slowly came to a halt, he gulped down nerves that sat in his throat and slowly grunted and shifted the lump. He looked about the fountain at all the fairies who had focused on this lone boy who had ventured up the mountain and helped someone.
The corners of Kentas' mouth curled sneakily at the great joy overflowing from him, he looked about once more before bowing and speaking clearly to the fairies, "The people of Kakariko have many injured and sick from some battle that ripped them from their homes in Hyrule Castle. I want to heal those people and bring a little peace to this mountain and it's fountain and those residing in Kakariko. Will you help me?" The chipper tone resonated through the chamber, echoing off the walls with such an innocent energy, Kentas' signature grin was shining off of his face as he addressed everyone.

Lexas "Well, you heard him! Lets go help the village!" Lexa hopped off of Kentas' hat and took charge of the group of fairies.
"We'll meet you there ok?"
And with that the fairies were off toward the village. Wings ringing their song.
Kentas Kentas gave out an ecstatic yelp before staring at Sayah, "Thank you for helping me, and I am happy that the fairies, including yourself are connected again. I will be sure to keep a watch from now on!" He grinned before charging out the passage and staring down as a trail of luminous lights of every color shone down towards Kakariko.
Laying down the drums near the two massive Gorons hide-away, the tiny boy inhaled sharply before screaming with a proud roar, "Hey Goron's! Thank you for the drum!" His voice echoed throughout the mountain as he slowly scaled down in the dark.
As he made his descent halfway down the wall a familiar pale yellow light came over his shoulder, Radella sighed as she helped guide him down, "So-Sorry.. kind of followed my brothers and sisters down before forgetting I am your fairy." Kentas merely giggled as he picked up the pace, the harsh earth clasped in his hands and against his boots as he made his way down further with Radella's light.
"Hehe. Don't worry about it, I would have done the same! We will be down there in no time!" He exclaimed as he made a daring leap from the wall before darting down the trail of Death Mountain, his boots kicked up clouds of dirt as he flew downhill, his heart racing and his breath slightly shallow but he was filled with an unusual energy, was it Sayah? Was it merely his excitement? He couldn't tell as he drifted round a sharp turn in the trail, leading past Dodongo's cavern and another twist in the road as he reached Kakariko's gate.
Tika Tika was exhausted. Tending to the wounded, making meals and fetching the water Kentas and Netri were tasked to retrieve had taken its toll on the poor girl.
Worse yet, It seemed that there were always more people to tend to, more mouths to feed.
It didn't help that miss Sayah ran off somewhere leaving Tika to fend for herself...
At least Netri was behaving for once..
Such a good girl asleep in her nursery. Tika thought that she might make cucco stew if she got the time. Netri's favourite.
Pulling the water bucket out of the well, Tika began to drag it to the camp.
Something however made her stop in her tracks.
A ringing.
Loud ringing.
A lot of ringing.
Tika dropped the bucket and looked toward the sound of the ringing.
Death mountain.
Was this a blessing from goddess Hylia?
Fairies!
Lots and lots of fairies!
So much so that the darkness of the night was completely lit up,
Pinks, purples, blues, greens, gold, these colours filled the night sky.
Injured knights coming to seek aid from Tika also stopped in their tracks.
"A boon!" She exclaimed.
The fairies circle Tika and the knights, their fairy dust falling all over them healing the knight's wounds and giving Tika the energy she needed to go on!
Spinning around Tika laughs as the fairies circle her and flutter around the village.
"I must wake Netri she'd love to see this!"
Tika ran inside and into Netri's nursery.
"Netri! Little noble you must wake to see this!"
Tika shook the covered lump on Netri's bed.
When Netri did not move Tika removed the covers, revealing naught but a pillow and a teddy bear.
Tika's face dropped.
Netri was gone.
"OH MY GODDESS!"
"NETRI YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE!!"
Torgem Emerging from his shop, the large goron known as Torgem squints into the distance. He had heard a faint ringing sound over his own smithing. While putting it down to just a 'trick of the wind', the ringing had become louder. The wave of fairies washing down from Death Mountain like an ocean is enough to cause his teeth to grit and his ruby eyes to shut tight.
"...I've been awake for far too long. I could have sworn I just saw too many fairies to count."
Opening his eyes, and noticing that they are STILL THERE, he breathes in stunned surprise. "Goodness me..." He echoes lowly, watching as they spread over the village to heal everyone.

Aubrey finishes his song and looks about to those listening. A few people are beaming with renewed hope, some have tart smiles that say they wish they could believe things will turn out that well...and then there are those who look downright sour or even angry. There are people here who have lost homes, livelihoods, and even loved ones, and for all they know they may be torn apart by monsters tomorrow...or worse, after months of hard and futile struggle to survive. Who the UNDERWORLD is this skinny bard to come here and start singing syrupy songs about –
"THERE IT IS!!!" shouts a child, pointing up at the sky. 8D
Everyone looks up out of pure instinct. Gasps and cries of astonishment fill the crowd, and even Aubrey's jaw drops at the shimmering ribbon of colors descending from the mountain. "...Rainbows in the night," Aubrey breathes with a chuckle of wonder. Who knew the Goddesses were being so LITERAL with Their message? ^.^;
(OOC: And here I was starting to think I'd heard God wrong about which song to use. X) )

Kentas Kentas came dashing through the gate, his eyes fixated on the sky above Kakariko as it filled with light, he could merely let out a breathless giggle as he flew into Torgem's workshop full speed. He threw himself on the counter looking wide eyed at the rock man.
"Mr Torgem! Mr Torgem! I did it! I got the fairies help! I also met some other Gorons so I think my adventure went Pretty well.." Almost boasting, Kentas leaned back with a cheeky grin on his face as he caught his breath, his amber eyes glowed with the reflection off all the light accumulated by the fairies, he gazed around as the growing roar of happiness from the villagers and refugees made Kentas' Kokiri heart beat heavily.
Kentas then turned his attention to Torgem, his brows raised in curiousity, "So has anything urgent happened while I was away? Felt like I was up that mountain for hours.. Hard to tell with this cursed sky!"

Torgem "Little boy from the forest." Torgem recognises Kentas easily, given he's the only kokiri that the goron has ever met. "You did all this?" He gapes in a stunned expression, daring another look around. "You really did it, didn't you? You climbed to the top of the mountain to see the great fairy? Ha." The being of stone affords himself a square-toothed smile.
"That is certainly a nice adventure you had. You should write it down in a book or something so no-one forgets." At the question, he pauses to consider everything.
"Not really. There was a man who got on top of one of the shelters here and told us all that if we left the Village now, that Ganondorf would let us live our lives normally." The native from Death Mountain shifts. "I don't know if anyone left... The guards got the man and clamped him in irons. Do you think it's true? That if we leave we'd be left alone?"
Kentas Kentas gave a sad smile, "I don't know actually. I barely know about this Ganondorf apart from a few of his evil tricks he has committed. From that though.. I would say it is unlikely we could trust such information." Kentas stared down at the work surface, slowly exhaling weakly.
Radella fluttered in his ear, "Hey now. We can try and stop him, look at what we did!" She shouted out with glee before flying off to join her fellow fairies, a smile returned to Kentas as he slowly nodded. "Maybe we can't be left alone by Ganondorf, but we must certainly try everything we can!" He gave a slight twinkle in his eyes as Kentas' small hands ran along the surface of Torgem's workspace.
Torgem Torgem takes the advice from Kentas with a slow nod. "I think you are correct." The goron drawls lowly. "It is hard to trust the words that people say when they sound crazy. But if it's true, I would certainly like to be out on the fields wandering around again. I think lots of people think the same sort of thing."
Wandering back into his store, the large being of stone plonks himself back down on the ground. "What are you going to try then, little boy from the forest?" His hands rest upon his knees. "Climbing Death Mountain is one thing, but trying something direct against him is something else I think!"
Kentas Kentas gave him a cheery smirk, "Well.. I don't think a single Kokiri going against such a man is wise. I should probably practise getting strong enough to properly wield this dagger and that scythe I asked you to fix! Then I will see about finding more allies who are against Ganondorf's rule! What about you Mr. Torgem? What will you do after you make all the weapons you can for Kakariko?" His tone hooked off from eagerness to curiousity as he leans forward over the surface he leaned on.
His eyes flashed to the array of fairy lights dancing around the village giving aid to everyone. All the fairies were certainly doing their part and then some as they sprinkle the warm dust and light that was healing and refreshing everyone's spirit.
Seeing all these fairies made Kentas give an obvious glance to the summit of Death Mountain, his thoughts went to the Great Fairy Sayah before immediately thinking of the village elder, his small red brow raising with questions, he waited for Torgem to answer him back before he would leave for the Elder's house.
Torgem "I don't know." Torgem replies to Kentas, shrugging with a roll of his shoulders. "Stay as safe as I can. Whether that be here or wherever others go to." Clearly he's no warrior or freedom fighter.
Pursing his lips, he does lift a finger. "That reminds me that I have fixed your scythe. Things have slowed down now that I have caught up on everyone. I think it is nearly time to quieten the forge and shut up shop now that everyone who wanted to be armed is suitably equipped."
Standing up from his squat, the goron waddles over to a collection of weapons and retrieves the scythe that Kentas put in. "Here you go. I hope it serves you well, boy of the forest."
Kentas Kentas bows to Torgem and his forge, "I thank you for making these repairs on it! Hopefully it serves me well! And hopefully you stay safe! Who knows, maybe you should try heading back to Death Mountain? Certainly more lively with my activities up there! How do those two Goron brothers get so big by the way?!" Lifting the newly furbished Scythe, the weight has changed more of Kentas' liking as he hoists if above his head in a triumphant four note sound before cradling it in his arms as he turns and walks off to Sayah's house, swinging the scythe ever so carefully and feeling the new weight, it felt like it could become an extension of his body if he trained it right, as he stared deep into the reflection of the blade, he could still see and feel a bit of that dark energy imbued inside.
Sayah's hut grew closer as Kentas stepped on the deck, many fairies fluttered in and out, as many refugees scattered themselves around the premises, Kentas and his amber eyes looked for either Sayah or Tika who could at least help find Sayah.

Tika Tika came out of miss Sayah's house looking absolutely frazzled. Netri was missing, gone somewhere in this eternal night were monsters roamed free.
Fairies fluttered around her, fairy dust falling all over her but no amount of magic could help with her dour mood.
And to compound things, Sayah was also missing.
She slumped over the wooden porch railings at the front of the house, staring out at all the fairies fluttering about and holding back tears.
She did not even notice the Kokiri boy approach.
Kentas Kentas could have sworn Tika would have been here, he shrugged his shoulders as he passed by many more refugees as the house filled with fairies. He felt impolite to carry such a weapon around someone else's home, he stopped at the kitchen, resting the wicked scythe down against the wall near the wooden door frame.
His small youthful eyes gleamed as he gazed around looking again for Tika or Sayah, however something caught his eye.. Radella was being led by; Capra, Laytl, Lexa and Gelsey as their clashing aura's of light drifted off further into the Elder's home.
As Kentas casually but sneakily tailed the fairy posse, they seemed to be familiar with the home, or at least knew where to go as they turned here and there before climbing an old staircase and disappearing out of sight, Kentas merely stood at the bottom with an expression of curiosity.
